Job Description

The PCB designer will develop printed circuit layout designs of digital, analog and RF circuits for use in 5G ORAN active antenna and radio products.

Responsibilities include

  • PCB layout design including component placement and signal routings
  • Collaborate with mechanical and electrical design engineers to define and align overall requirements to create optimal design approach
  • Participate in design reviews with engineering team members
  • Generation of PCB manufacturing packages for vendors including Gerber files, PCB stack-up drawings, OrCAD Allegro layout files, schematic files and assembly drawings
  • Creation and maintenance of component libraries
  • Participate in DFM reviews with PCB and PCBA suppliers
  • Establish and utilize best practices design rules to achieve highest quality designs

 

Preferred Experience

  • 5 years of continuous experience with Cadence Allegro PCB Designer and Cadence OrCAD Capture CIS
  • Proficient in constructing component physical footprints (Allegro) and maintaining libraries
  • Proficient in importing schematic into Allegro and fixing issues during the process
  • Full understanding of the process of importing files from Mechanical packaging tools into Allegro
  • Experience using Allegro Constraint Manager for Electrical, Physical, and Spacing rules
  • Familiar with DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) processes and IPC specifications
  • Well-versed with fabrication processes, PCB materials, and understanding of Allegro Output Manufacturing files such as ODB++
  • Familiar with the utilization of Allegro scripts to become more efficient and maximize usage of tools
  • Experience with high-speed memory devices for layout considerations such as placement and routing
  • Experience in RF transceiver PCB design and layout techniques
  • Experienced with Power supply layout techniques as well as thermal constraints
  • Able to work with minimum supervision as well as taking ownership of tasks assigned to meet schedules

Education

An undergraduate or associates degree in Electrical Engineering is required
