Wireless System Integration and Test Engineer

Job Description

This position involves system integration and testing of Blue Danube Systems active antenna products in lab and field environments. Specific responsibilities of the position include:

Responsibilities include:

  • System integration and test of L1, L2 and L3 layers as well as technology demonstrations
  • Perform tests to validate integrity of digital interface between subsystems including CPRI / eCPRI / ORAN fronthaul
  • Definition of test plans and specification of all test equipment and lab/site requirements in collaboration with development and systems engineering teams
  • Participate in design verification and characterization and development of Bench Test solutions
  • Perform RF & LTE physical layer measurements to characterize system performance
  • Use handset and network infrastructure based advanced test tools to accurately measure existing and potential network performance
  • RF and OTA parametric optimization and troubleshooting involving the use of various data collection and post-processing tools to assess network performance and propose solutions to problems
  • Interact closely with Systems engineers, Software/Hardware developers and RF engineers to test and evaluate end-to-end performance
  • Interface with customer engineering including assisting with documentation and training
  • Meeting overall development schedule and cost objectives

Preferred Experience

  • 4+ years in cellular handset or base station modem system integration and testing
  • Knowledge of LTE / 5G NR PHY, MAC, RLC, PDCP, RRC protocols and experience debugging system logs
  • Knowledge of IP, UDP, TCP, HTTP protocols and analysis tools such as Wireshark
  • Experience with test equipment such as Channel emulator, Spectrum analyzers and Signal generators
  • Test programming skills and RF testing fundamentals
  • Strong fundamentals in Communications Theory and wireless communications
  • Knowledge of digital signal processing desirable
  • Experience with LTE network design, network troubleshooting, fine-tuning, and optimization
  • Experience in test automation setup and scripting languages such as Python/Perl/Matlab
  • Knowledge of mobile platform operating systems including Linux, Android, and iOS
  • Ability to load and execute code and do basic debugging of applications
  • Demonstrated record delivering quality products, root cause analysis, and actionable reports
  • Ability to work in a small team and drive to go beyond expectations to deliver results



An undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering is required. A Master’s degree is strongly preferred.
